Spring Life Refresh I: Physical Self

Birds chirping, sun shining, flowers blooming… Spring has finally sprung here in Switzerland and with the warm weather arrives my yearly desire to change my entire life. Now not everyone can go as hard as me and move to a different city (more on that to come soon…), but there are some things you can do in spring to refresh your life. Over the coming weeks, I’m going to share different way of refreshing your life, starting with your physical self today!

Physical Refresh

The first are of your life to refresh is your physical self. There’s nothing like a bit of self care to feel like you’ve been born anew in my opinion. So let’s dive into the things I plan on doing this spring to refresh myself physically!

Get a Haircut

If the ends of your hair have been looking as rough as mine, I suggest you get a haircut! Nothing makes me feel more like a new person than a fresh haircut. If you're feeling a little daring, you can go for something completely different, or just get a trim to revive those strands. Layers and medium length cuts are still trending - and a timeless look that suits most people in my opinion.

Update your Skin Care Routine

If your daily skin care routine has been boring you so much that you don’t do it consistently anymore, it’s time to switch things up. Spring is also a good time to reassess your regimen because the weather grows warmer in many places and you might have to switch out your heavy winter moisturiser for a lighter one. Try New Hairstyles

After getting a haircut I am often stumped on what to do with my second, third, or even fourth day hair. This is the perfect time to try out some new hairstyles. There’s lots of inspiration to be found on Pinterest and TikTok. I always feel like a brand-new woman when I try out a new hairstyle, especially since figuring out my hair is actually wavy / curly! Braids, buns, and half-up hairstyles are my go-to’s at the moment.

Get a Manicure

One way you can incorporate all the spring colours into your life is by getting them on your nails. I usually like to do my own nails but if you like getting manicures, now is the time to treat yourself to a fresh new colour. It will brighten your mood even when the occasional rainy day hits! Pastels are always a safe bet in spring - especially sage green, which seems to be the colour of spring 2022 (and I’m totally falling for it because it reminds me of matcha).

Switch up Make up

You probably have your make up routine set, especially if you do it every day. But switching it up for spring and going for a lighter look can make you feel fresh and inspired. Opt for lighter coverage, pastels and pops of colour with your eyeshadow or liner to really channel the spring feeling.
